Island Hostels is a chain of Hostels in Sri Lanka that cater to a specific audience, its targeted at travellers who want comfortable rooms and amenities during their holidays, as opposed to covering just the basics. They also engage with the travellers by hosting events and arranging other travel requirements for them, which helps them to create a community.

The original Island Hostels logo had tried to bring together all the elements of a holiday in Sri Lanka, from the beaches to the city to the palm trees and the food. I stripped this back to focus on the island but in an abstracted form that would form the basis for a brand identity that would easily adapt to different locations and also different elements of the hostels, such as the room numbers and brochures.
